closeup of xena / gina (tbc)
she has constipation. anyone has effective home remedy for that? i tried honey water, but doesnt seem to be working. last time she did her big business was 2.5 days ago.
A vet said butter (the unsalted one) works as well.
Or what about you massage its little tummy like you would to a neo natal kitten? It should stimlate its bowels.
Worse come to worse, get the vet to do an enema. But please cover your nose beforehe/she does it. Sure to stink the whole place.
But don't wait to long to take action. The faeces nearer the anal opening would have hardened so much that it would be very painful to push out and it becomes a circular reference for the cat. Painful then don't shit.
thankfully, xena/gina/bambi/xuanxuan has poo in her litterbox when i came home last night.
will monitor VERY closely. and kxbc, thanks for the reminder on the last part. i do have to take action before it's too late. ever had a kitten die on me due to constipation, and no thanks to a certain vet who did not know of the seriousness of her condition too).
will not leave anything to chance this time. kittens are just too vulnerable!
What a CUTIE! All better now? Mom read once that cow's milk is good for that because most cats are lactose-intollerant. In other words, since it usually gives us soft stools, it can help soften constipation. I'd purrfur vanilla ice cream myself.
