so i survived

my first day of work at a "fruit" company!

i hate first days... but thanks to my "high expectation" boss, it didnt feel like a first day at all .

in fact, i sat in meetings till 6.40pm (official end time is 5.30pm)

then there's the IT setup. which of course, IT dept wasnt helpful at all.

thankfully, for the fruit company, everything i needed to install was on the intranet.

i have a feeling i will be working long hours for the next 1 or 2 quarters.

must be retribution - for the "snake" i have enjoyed in my previous company!

I heard the fruit company is quite good in staff welfare, plus the prestige, but the work stress is extreme.

Oh well, can't win.

I like fruits.

staff welfare? well, i had hoped for a well-stocked pantry, but... only water is free. no coffee or sweets.

but have 20cents vending machine of soft drinks and hot drinks (cup type).

I heard the staff canteen leaves much to be desired for :) Good thing there is something to eat opposite

Well, perhaps being in the "fruit" company can help to maintain your new slimmer figure, since fruits are supposed to be healthy, right? Tee Hee!

anonymous - though i have not tried the staff canteen food yet, i have tried the foodcourt opposite, which is prob the worst food i have tasted. and mind you, they're not cheaper (same price points like coffee shops).

on hindsight, i neednt have gone for slimming. horrible food here would prob have made me slimmer anyway, few months down the road!

imp - yes, thankfully long weekend coming, with 2 extra days for fruity staff.
