bitchy witchy bitch

something happened to me at work. dont think it has happened to any one of you..

here goes...

the new financial controller (mid-thirties, around my age) saw one of my staff (whom she disliked, for whatever reason) skyping her temp boy, and my staff (let's call her "A") defamed her. cos earlier FC made one of her girls (let's call her "J") cry.

FC printed out the skype history, which consisted of 2 pages, and shot straight to HR room.

of course i was called into my boss's room, with FC and HR director, and the 2 pages of skype history.

women are the pettiest creatures on earth! in that 2 pages of skype, mostly harmless chatting, consisted of one liner, A saying FC was a bitchy witchy bitch.

thanks to A, i was lectured for not taking my staff into hand and blah blah blah... of course i had to say she was very irresponsible and unprofessional, blah blah blah...

i looked back and wondered what i would have done - prob nothing, cos when there's instant messaging, there will be gossip...

ps FC is really a double-headed snake, as confirmed later by J. J has tendered her resignation...

i lost weight!

wah... if i knew getting the flu for one week can result in losing 3-4kg, i wouldnt need to spend that kind of money to go for slimming lo...

do take care people, flu bug is very resilient.

i can be labelled as MC queen already. work for 3 months, took 5 days mc liao.

stress plus crapping my style to micro-manage incompetent and new staff caused this.

i'll share more over the weekend, over a cuppa and perhaps after a nice traditional indonesian massage... aaaaahhhh....

i gained some, i lost some.

that's ok. i am now a stronger gal :)

this morning, i am finally going back to my japanese class, which i stopped for 3 months.

2nd chance

i sure hope i can be jian ming like kxbc. found an opening with a chinese company, very rich (read : stingy in caps) chairman, and what i perceive to be not too bad a boss (chairman not my boss).

i am starting next week. hope the politics wont be too drama mama like hongkie serials!

i quit

i have tender my resignation.

without a job.

why?

cos my body was giving way.

i had no energy.

my brain was drained.

heck, i didnt even had the strength to vent on my other half (which i used to do whenever i was stressed at work).

the constant stomachaches and cold sweat were the signals.

everything was just wrong from the beginning.

in retrospect, i should have just heeded my sixth sense when i went to sign appointment letter.

an expensive lesson, for a bored and complacent person dying for a challenging job.

well, i got what i wanted, and serve me right!

m.i.a.

i apologise for the long silence. there's been so much going in my life right now (so much for wanting challenges! ha!), i am not in the right frame to blog (else my posts will come out as complicated and messy).

bear with me, i am sorting out fruits and vegetables, which is getting more complicated and tangling. but you know what they say, after a storm, all will be calm.

things happen for a reason

wanted to title this post "i am being micro-managed", but decided to be more general and thought-provocative (whatever that means).

yes, i just realised that i am being micro-managed. surprisingly, i am dealing with it rather well! for my character lah. i think if this happened in previous jobs/companies, i would have 1) complained to colleagues and close friends 2) visualize myself walking out in a very fast pace!

i did not do 1) or 2). i guess i already know i made a very bad decision to join this high profile consumer e company, so what can be worse than that?

thankully, in the last work week, i made some adjustments to ease my stress and frustration levels.

i woke up at 6.30am, reach office at 8am and left mostly at 6pm. it's hard to explain to friends and family why i had to stay late (previous weeks i left at 7.30pm).

i really dont mind working hard, but in my situation, i dont get things done even if i stay late. things are very messy in the company. many process screw ups that no one seems to care (except me), boss just shove work down my way (not considering i am totally new in the company, cant offer guidance cos she herself does not know what's going on - and she has been in the company for 13 years).

this has brought me to think hard about what i want out of my career and what i expect from the company ie. the next one.

i am more focused and motivated to look for the next job. but not desperate.

i guess things happen for a reason. if i was not thrown into this shit (or rather, i threw myself into this shit), i would not have a chance to think so hard what i want to do with my skills.

for this i am thankful, and i pray i will come out of this a better person.

some serious thoughts for a sunday, eh?...

a journey every one of us has to go through

sorry for the long silence

there's been a death in the family

grandma passed away peacefully at the age of 92

i must say it's been an interesting experience organizing the wake and funeral and stuff. wanted to take pictures of the wake but i think some people are quite "pang tang"

afterthoughts:

1) funerals are expensive ranging from 6-10K or more (so pls start saving for it)
2) you dont have the luxury of time to get and compare quotes from different casket companies
3) thus you are at the losing end and
4) most likely you will get ripped off
5) dealing with the living is a pain in the ass
6) what's with the red string at wakes?
7) there's so many variations to chinese customs eg. give orange, give red packet with 20cents, give red packet with $2, give red packet with 20cents AND red string
8) give orange to people who drive
9) give before the funeral
10) give after the funeral

headache and concussed...

but i survived :)
